Powers of Ten
This has nothing to do with literature, but a lot to do with general knowledge and, dare I say it, coolness. I’ve know about this little video for years, and I own the book derived from it, But this is the first time I’ve seen the video, crude though the online version may be.
This was made by Charles and Ray Eames, the same folks who brought you the Eames chair and many other design marvels.

Ooh! Thanks for that! I remember that video from my childhood—I think they used to show it during Electric Company or 3-2-1 Contact, or some such CTW show—and whenever I mention it, no one’s ever seen it, so now I know I can send them to YouTube.
This is indeed very cool; I’d never seen it (maybe it didn’t reach this side of the Atlantic). Better than a chair, certainly.
Last year my local film society teamed up with a museum to screen several of the Eames’ films. It was a fabulous evening. I wouldn’t say any of them are better than the Eames chair, though.
Anyway, here’s some info on all the films: http://www.eamesoffice.com/index2.php?mod=film
